Whats the best part about an auto show? The concepts of course! They are a glimpse into the future of automotive technology and an outlet for vehicle designers to express themselves the opportunity to display their most exciting ideas.
Michelin views concept vehicles as the perfect opportunity to display the future in tire technology. Designers at Michelin work closely with vehicle designers to integrate tires into the overall vehicle concept. These edgy ideas are showing up on concept vehicles in auto shows around the world. Look for them in Frankfurt and Tokyo as well.
Have you seen the Jeep Willys, Super8 Hemi and GM Yukon XL? Michelin worked with these vehicles designers to create unique treads, sidewall carvings, tire colors and sizes to match the brand and image of the concept.
At Michelin, concept development is a priority. The company believes tire systems can be a major asset from the first concept drawing the possibilities are endless.

PAX System is poised to radically change vehicle design.
Vehicle Design Opportunities:
Eliminates the need for a spare wheel, opening up space for redesign of the rear axle.
Provides potential for different front and rear assemblies, because a standard-sized spare tire is not needed.
Larger interior wheel dimension permits the integration of larger and lighter breaking systems, motor systems or other components.
