Aug 8, 2001 - An electrifying design concept to debut at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show hints at the exciting potential of Mitsubishis Dakar Pajero. Mitsubishi has recently initiated a new design directive that calls for greater visual emphasis of passion and enthusiasm in its car designs. The Pajero Evolution concept car is one of the first expressions of this new approach.
New regulations and arrangement of the Paris-Dakar prompted this new design study for the Pajero. Dynamic design elements that inspire passion and stimulate the senses breathe the aggressive spirit of motor sports into the Pajeros functional elegance. Jutta Kleinschmidt, the winner of this years Paris-Dakar, participated in the design, bringing her expertise and winning spirit.
According to the Mitsubishi statement, "The result is the chiseled beauty of a well-trained athlete. The sleek, futuristic expression of sheer driving pleasure at once projects power and emotion. Mitsubishis trademark three-diamond emblem is enlarged on the rakish front, establishing a link between Mitsubishis successful rally activities and its production models. The low-and-wide stance projects stability and dominating performance as well as the multi-functional nature of the car."
