Paris Motor Show

Geneva Motor Show 2002

The Paris Motor Show was undoubtedly the most significant motor show in Europe this year, with a bumper crop of key concept cars and many significant production model launches.

Leading the concept car debuts were the three French makers with the Citroen C-Airdream, Renault Ellypse, Peugeot Sesame and H20, together with the first showing of the General Motors High-Wire and the Chrysler California Cruiser concept. Ford’s C-MAX MAV concept and Kia’s KCV-II were also showcar surprises.

Small fun cars featured strongly with surprise introductions of the Ford StreetKa, Smart Roadster, Peugeot 307CC, Citroen C3 Pluriel and Nissan Micra C+C. Luxury models were also a theme with the introductions of the Maybach 57 and 62, Bentley GT, Audi A8, Jaguar XJ, Porsche Cayenne, and Ferrari Enzo all vying for attention.

Further major model launches included the new Renault Megane, BMW Z4, VW Touareg, Toyota Landcruiser, Opel Meriva, Seat Cordoba, new Saab 9-3 and the European market Honda Accord.
