Europes biggest and most important biennial gathering, the Frankfurt Motor Show, has seen the simultaneous launch of the 5th generation of VW Golf and Opel Astra, two of Europes top-selling models. Ford has unveiled the first production models based on next years new Focus platform the Mazda3 and Volvo S40 sedan. This is also a significant event for BMW, with the debut of the new 5-Series sedan, 6-Series coupe, and the all-new X3.

Surprise concept vehicle debuts included the top of the line Opel Insignia, the Jaguar R-D6, and the Audi LeMans mid-engine V10 concept. Lancia showed the Fulvia concept in a stylish recreation of the original Fulvia debut, and Skoda impressed with the Roomster concept.
