Feb 25, 2003 - Italdesign-Giugiaro is in the usual rush for the completing of their latest show car. It is called Moray and is a design exercise by Fabrizio Giugiaro, based on the Chevrolet Corvette. The images shown here are renditions based on the full-scale plaster model.

The show-car is aimed to be a celebration of the 50 year old Chevrolet Corvette and its style clearly suggests that it is a modern and elegant review of the Corvette's best designs with more than a touch of great simplicity, a new approach to design by Fabrizio Giugiaro that can only be welcome, considering the striking success obtained by the simple and yet beautiful Alfa Romeo Brera.

The name has been suggested by the soft and round shape of the car that according to its designer wants to look as it had been shaped by 'drifting tides'. Its fluent and uninterrupted profile marked by the long and slender front lights, has brought to Fabrizio's mind the vision of a 'muraema helena' (Moray eel), found in Mediterranean waters.
