Saturn Relay

The Relay crossover sport van is a new model for Saturn, and a further development of GM's $$$ minivan platform, featuring a new front end design that transforms the profile of the long-running minivan, and an extensively revised interior.

“We took the best features of a mid-van, such as low step-in height and sliding side doors, and wrapped it in a stronger, more powerful-looking package,” said Jack Folden, design director for GM’s front-wheel-drive truck team.

This is the first Saturn vehicle to seat seven, and joins the small-car Ion sedan and coupe, the L300 midsize sedan and wagon and the Vue compact sport utility truck in the expanding Saturn portfolio. Saturn is aiming at first-time buyers, especially the 40 percent of first-time mid-van buyers who choose an import brand.

The exterior ......picking up a visual cue from the Vue, the lower cladding carries through the rockers then turns and flows up into the taillamps, uniting the fascia with the taillamps in a way that creates a tighter-looking overall package.

Buick Terraza

The 2005 Buick Terraza complements the Rendezvous and Rainier in the Buick truck lineup, and is also based on GM's ?? minivan platform. Blending the functionality of a premium midsize passenger van with the rugged appearance of an SUV, the GM designers have transformed the profile of the minivan with a high, truck-like front end design.

The interior features wood trim and chrome highlights on the steering wheel, instrument panel and center control stack. Doorplates are also executed in dark burled wood with bright accents and the front doors feature chrome sill plates.
