The biennial Internationale Automobile Austellung (IAA), is arguably the most significant motor show in the calendar. It is also one that requires sturdy footwear to tackle the expansive halls that take punters around all the world's car manufacturers. Located in western Germany, it is in the heart of Europe, yet demands attention from all other continents for its dense mix of new-car launches and production previews.
Significant previews have already come from neighbouring France, but given the impact of German cars in the global market, the show's value is one the home manufacturers dare not overlook: expect new concepts exposing their game of one-upmanship.
