Tokyo Motor Show 2005

The biennial Tokyo Motor Show is one of the highlights of the automotive calendar as domestic companies expose their latest work. Beyond styling, the Tokyo Motor Show reveals how designers question the role of private transport, and the technology that powers it. As such, the show tends to be biased to concept rather than production cars, reflecting the ambitions of the local studios. More recently, the work of western studios has made itself felt, notably Audi and Volkswagen who have eschewed Frankfurt in favour of Tokyo to display their latest concepts.
