Geneva Motor Show 2001 Preview - Skoda Fabia Saloon

Feb 20, 2001 - Skoda Auto has released the first official picture of its latest baby, the four-door Fabia Saloon, which will have its first public showing at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show.

The Fabia Saloon shares the same platform and styling as its sister vehicles, the highly acclaimed and successful Fabia supermini and the recently launched Fabia estate, but in a classic saloon format with separate boot compartment.

The new Fabia Saloon is the same length as the Fabia estate at 4222mm, and it is this extra length which allows it's boot capacity of 438 litres, compared to 260 litres in the hatchback.

Geneva will also play host to a second important new model launch for Skoda, the Octavia 4x4 Hatchback, featuring the Haldex Coupling 4-wheel drive system which until now has only been available in the Octavia Estate.
