Shen Jiang's project was a Renault rally car, a modernization of the Alpine A110. Taking modern homologation rules and applying them to a classic design, Jiang then undertook a study to develop a contemporary equivalent of this legendary competition vehicle, using the next generation Renault Clio as its foundation.

With the HD3 Hammerhead, David Imai tackled a future Honda performance coupe. Intended as a hero car, it defines Honda as a maker of exciting cars you can use everyday. To avoid mass-market uniformity, the design uses technology that allows the car to be customized to suit the identity of the individual at the wheel.
Kang Seung Mo had two models at the show, both based on Hyundai lineage - one Kia, one Hyundai. The challenge, as he saw it, was in trying to differentiate between the two brands, currently perceived to be fighting over the same market share, while strengthening their Korean cultural character.
Other designs at the show included:
- Tom Matic's cab-forward Electronic Invigoration, whose rear wheels trailed behind the main vehicle body to allow changes in wheelbase and alter the character of the car
- George Koukos' limousine concept, using modern production techniques to bring the feel of handcrafting to the mass market and minimise panel gaps
- Neeraj Pal's Nissan pickup, intended as a mobile sales stand for outdoor markets as well as a personal mode of transport
- Dang Rong's Chanel-inspired 'movable diamond', taking fashion-house luxury and interpreting it as automotive ambience, cosseting the occupants in style whilst offering refuge from the world.
The Coventry Automotive Design Masters program aims to attract student designers with a combination of reputation and practical skill instruction. The course's reputation as a centre for design excellence recently received further international recognition with its success in the Ferrari Design Competition 'New Concepts of the Myth' 2005. Five teams from the university submitted designs, with the Fiorano being selected as one of the final winners. The three students who collaborated on the project will have the opportunity to intern at either Ferrari or Pininfarina's prestigious design studios. Another of the university's entries, the F-Zero, received the 'Sunday Times' readers vote for best design and a majority of the popular vote from an MSN poll held online.
