The cube shape also influences the exterior's large section and clean surfaces. The cabin is designed higher than the front hood to enable it to slide forward and create more free space for the interior. Her GM-sponsored project shown alongside considered the potential of Cadillac in China, and uses the GM Kappa platform.
Other projects include Daniel Talbert's Lamborghini Espada and a BMW coupe by Noah Sussman, while an Acura was presented by Hsien Yi Chiu.
The Art Center students' projects are largely developed using traditional methodology, taking 2D sketches and drawings to a 1/5 or 1/4 scale tape drawing, from which a clay model is developed. Sketches and concept drawings are increasingly generated using computer-based applications such as Alias StudioPaint and Adobe Photoshop, while the tape drawing is executed with the help of Adobe Illustrator and the model built and rendered in CAID packages such as Alias AutoStudio. Models are also physically generated from 3D data using the school's rapid prototyping facility, which allows the students to have their models milled out using the 5-axis CNC mill.
