January 27, 2003 - In December last year we announced that Car Design News and Opticore, a leading design software company, would soon be launching 'Go Digital', the world’s first International Automotive Digital Design Competition.

The competition now has its own website at: www.opticore.com/godigital and we can announce that there will be prizes worth well over a quarter of a million dollars and a competition start date of February 17th.

The Go Digital website is the central source of information about the competition for participants and interested parties alike. It provides comprehensive information about the competition including eligibility details, assessment criteria, submissions format, deadlines and prizes. It also enables you to register for further news, provides regular updates in the News section, and gives further information about Go Digital organisers and sponsors.

Coinciding with the website launch is the announcement of over a quarter of a million dollars worth of prizes! These are to be awarded to the finalists in June, after the completion of the first phase of the competition, and to the winners in September when the second, final phase of the competition finishes.

Prizes for each of the 20 finalists (10 finalists in two categories) are:
- One licence of Opticore Realizer (limited version worth $14,000)
- One year membership of Car Design News, enabling access to members-only stories and a database of thousands of high quality photos from major international autoshows and design exhibitions.

Prizes for both winners (in addition to the finalists’ prizes) are:
- Opticore Opus Realizer (full package including maintenance for one year), and a high end computer work station, worth over $25,000 when combined.
- Tickets to the 2003 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show for both press days, flight and three nights accommodation.

The launch of the website and announcement of the Go Digital competition prizes mark the beginning of the countdown to the start of the competition, which shall be on February 17th. On this date the lifestyle scenario design brief will be issued and the list of senior design industry judges made public.

Those interested in the competition, either in entering or just following its progress, can register on the website for email newsletter updates which will include a reminder on the 17th of the start and priority notification of the brief.

As the world's first automotive digital design competition, giving participants the opportunity to have their work seen by senior industry design management, and with some exceptional prizes, we think Go Digital is set to be a big success!
