Jun 1, 2005 – Aston Martin has appointed Marek Reichman as Director of Design. Reichman, 39, joins Aston Martin from Ford North America where he held the position of Director of Design for Product, Interior Design Strategy and Process. In that role, he led the development of interior design, strategy and execution for future Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. He joined Ford in 1999 as Chief Designer for Ford and Lincoln Mercury brands, based in Irvine, California. In his first assignment he led the development of concept vehicles including the Lincoln Continental, Lincoln Mark X and Mercury Messenger.

Reichman began his design career in 1991 with Rover Group in Coventry, England, where he helped design and develop a future-generation Rover flagship. In 1995, he moved to DesignworksUSA in California, to become Senior Designer, and led the overhaul of Land Rover design DNA for future production models, most significant of which became the 2003 all-new Range Rover. He returned to the UK in 1998 to establish a London based design studio.

Reichman was born in Sheffield, England. He studied Industrial Design at the University of Teesside in Middlesbrough, followed by a Masters degree in Vehicle Design at the Royal College of Art in London. He has been a regular judge at design awards and lecturer at conferences in Europe and North America.
